How to perform Salah (Prayer)?
To begin, clean your body and clothing of any impurities.
Step 1:
Perform Wudhu
(Purification through washing)
Step 2:
Find a place to Pray.
Prayer can take place in any clean area. Many people also use a prayer rug or clean mat.
Step 3:
Face towards the Kaaba in Mecca.
The Kaaba is the Direction of Prayer or Qibla.
Step 4:
a. Choose the Prayer You want to Perform
A voluntary prayer that can be performed at any time is called the Two Rakat (units of) Prayer.
b. Make the Intention/Niyyah to Pray
Example: ”I Offer Two Rakat (units of) Prayers seeking nearness to Allah (God), in obedience to Him.”
Step 5:
Begin prayer.
